TOEFL or IELTS: Scholarship requirements for international students
Dear International Student,
If you are like other hundreds of international students seeking to attend a university in the United States, you are in the right place. Here, we post all the necessary information that you will need to know in order to land the best scholarship or get admitted to a college of your dream.
In the United States, many people can’t afford a college education. This is why many students are working hard in their academics in order to get a college scholarship. Some are also working hard in sports in order to get discovered by college scouts and offer them a sports scholarship.
Most of the times, international students think that they only need to take TOEFL or IELTS test and they will land a full scholarship or they need to just play a sport and their school will be paid for. This is total myth and the reality is: You need to work twice as hard and be a lot better compared to your American peers. Think about it! Why would a university offer you a scholarship for just a TOEFL score, when they have their own citizens lined up with high scores? You have to be different. Set yourself apart and think outside the box.
To begin the process, you have to ask yourself:
a) what is my goal?
b) do I want to try and stay in the US and work after graduation or do I have to come back to my home country?
Based on the answer, you should try to pick your major. If you are having an American dream then familiarize yourself with STEM majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). Search what majors are considered part of the STEM program and comment below to receive our honest answers.
